This is one of "my" furnaces. We do preventive maintenance on each of these monthly, quarterly, and an annual teardown. No wonder they run so well.

Carol Fey is a technical trainer in the heating business who specializes in teaching and writing about basic electricity and controls. She has accepted a job in Antarctica as a mechanic apprentice for 4-1/2 months starting in October, 2008. Carol humorously says that this job will finally get her to where many of her clients started--cleaning oil burners. McMurdo station is heated with boilers fired on jet fuel.
